Our Weapons

Hello Everyone,

If we take the time to closely examine our weapons we will find that they are invisible and intangible. These spiritual weapons are accessible and active everywhere -- they are not subject to territorial limitations. They cross all borders freely because they are passed vertically, from above. These weapons cannot be destroyed by listening devices, by electronics, nor by prisons! Our weapons are powerful, because the Lord God is acting on our behalf! Prayer nor faith, neither trust nor righteousness have been taken from us. Nothing at all can be taken, because these weapons are made powerful by God!

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"
2 Corinthians 10:4,5

Choose Me

Hello Everyone,

Remembering that God does all things well, I am reminded of a Sunday School teacher was teaching a group of teenage boys one Sunday about Christ's disciples; about their abilities, their attributes, and why Jesus might have chosen them. Toward the end of the lesson a teen-aged boy who was particularly enthralled about the whole concept of calling, chosen by God, said, "Teacher, why did Jesus choose Judas?" To which the Sunday school teacher replied, "Son, I don't know. But I have a harder question. Why did Jesus choose me?"

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" Philippians 1:6

Anxiety

Hello Everyone,

Anxiety is very common with folks these days. Most of the folks that I know that have a lot of anxiety is based upon things that never happen. It is like the patient in the mental hospital, holding his ear close to the wall, listening intently. The attendant finally approached. "Sh!" whispered the patient, calling him over. The attendant put his ear to the wall for a long time. "I can't hear a thing," he finally said. "No," replied the patient, "it's been like that all day!"
I believe anxiety can be traced to worry or consecrating too much on the "What If!" No one knows what a day will bring, God is still in control. Amen, Let God handle it

Stress

Hello Everyone,

According to article in the Mayo Clinic stated that statistically 80 percent to 85 percent of their total case load were ill either in reality or artificially due directly to mental stress. It stated something from an article in a leading medical journal entitled, "Is Stress the Cause of All Disease?" The author of the article says that at the beginning of the century, bacteria were considered to be the center of attention. Today, mental stress has replaced bacteria.

God can Handle it

Hello Everyone

When my sons were very little, we were walking back to house from the garden. I was carrying a bucket full of tomatoes. When one of them asked if he could carry it. I told him that I would take care of it. But he insisted that he could carry it. I told him that it was heavy and that I can handle it. He again made it clear that he wanted to help me and carry the bucket. So I gave in. Just the look on his face made me aware that he did not know that it was that heavy. So he struggled and proclaims that it was indeed heavy. "I told you that it was heavy and that I could handle it." After another step or two he asked, "Can you take this?"
I have never forgotten how God spoke to my heart with this remembrance. How often do we try to carry those things that we can't carry because they are too heavy. "God, can you carry this?" "Sure, I can handle it."

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Huddle Together

Hello Everyone,

Its football season again. As I was watching it hit me that 11 men were huddle together to come up with a plan to more the ball forward. At the same time 11 men are making plans to try to stop the forward movement. Isn't that really what we are doing in our church prayer meetings. Praying to come up with a plan to move forward against the wiles of the devil? At times we may seem to be stagnate. But, let me encourage you, keep on praying and keeping on moving forward. Jesus is coming soon.

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:10-11

Your Worth

Hello Everyone,

I am often reminded of Job. Job was a real soldier for God. You and I should not think it strange when you desire to serve God and then seem to encounter a severe time of testing. God's purpose in testing is to make the each of us more valuable. Listen a $5.00 bar of steel cut into ordinary horseshoes is worth $10. Just as well $5.00 bar of steel cut into needles is worth $350.00. Then that same bar of steel cut into delicate springs for watches becomes worth $250,000.00. Now that is something to remember the next time you get discouraged at what God is allowing you to go through. No telling just really how much you are worth.

"Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," 2 Timothy 2:8,9

Breaking Problems

Hello Everyone,

When I first became a foreman over the machine shop, my boss told me that every problem was an opportunity. Did not make much sense to me then. What I have found is that the only folks I know that have no problems are in the cemetery. The more problems you have, the more alive you are. Every problem has within it, the seeds of its own solution. When the Lord wants to give you the greatest value in this world, He doesn't wrap it in a pretty package and hand it to you on a silver platter. He takes this big value and buries it at the heart of a big, tough problem. Everybody I've ever known who succeeded in a big way in life has done so by breaking problems apart and finding the value that was there.

"But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;" Philippians 1:12

One Rose

Hello Everyone,

Rose are so beautiful and now can anyone not enjoy their smell. (Unless you are allergic) An old Christina friend of mine told me to have price smelling and beautiful roses one must concentrate all the strength of the plant in one or two blooms. If we would allow it to bear all the flowers it could, none would be worth showing. If you want a prize specimen, you must be content with one or two blooms instead of a score. He went on to explain to for the same reason, God sends trials to prune from our lives the useless blooms of self, popularity, and comfort, so that He may perfect in us one exquisite white blossom of holiness.

Recycling

Hello Everyone,

They are repaving one of the busiest roads in town and boy it is a mess. However they are doing in one half the time it used to take. Now listen they come along first and rip up the old black top and reprocess it by heating it up to certain degree and putting it right back on the same road, only this time a lot smoother. Recycling at its best. The Lord likes to do the same for you and me, if we will allow it. God can take our old mistakes and turn them around to be a benefits to not only us to others as well. Praise the Lord for recycling.

God knows Best

Hello Everyone,

I watched and I am sure that you have seen it happen as well, a man walking his dog and its leash gets wrapped around a pole. The dog tries to continue running forward, but only tighten the leash more. Both the dog and the owner were wanting to do the same thing, to go forward. But the owner must resist the dog by pulling him back in the opposite direction. The master, having the same intention but with a better understanding than the dog, takes an action in the opposite direction of the dog's will. With this in mind, I think I now have a better understanding of that God, at times, has to do for you and me.

"Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:" 1 Peter 1:6,7

Veterans Day

Hello Everyone,

Let me encourage each of you to take the time to thank a veteran today. Much of what we enjoy and many times take for granted can be traced back to these veterans. Each soldier you see, deserves your taking the time to first of all - pray for them. Then shaking their hands and tell them personally how thankful you are. And if the Lord leads buy them a cup of coffee or a meal. I wished that I could tell what it meant to my dad and my son. Thank you Lord for these true Heroes.

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;" 1 Timothy 2:1

Good Fruit

Hello Everyone,

A few years back someone gave my wife a tulip tree. It was suppose to be one of those flowering kind. But It did not bloom the first year nor the second. My wife was some what disappointed. But I told her let it grow another year maybe it will flower out. Next year has now come and gone and still no flowers. She looked at me and said that I guess the Lord doesn't want us to have a flowering tulip tree. Praise the Lord, cause it was growing too close to the house anyway and its branches were starting wear marks on the sliding. So down it goes with the reminder that God does all things well. Amen

"And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the tree: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire." Matthew 3:10

Low-Medium-High

Hello Everyone,

In my office is a lamb that has three "ON" position and one "OFF." It is designed for these light bulbs that have three different brightness. Low - medium - high. Yet there is only one off. I was thinking that could be Christians. Low - medium - high - off. Let me ask, which position are you? If we were honest with ourselves we could all say that we have fit into every position at one time or another on our life's journey. Amen

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

Dismiss Him

Hello Everyone,

While building a new gate for our backyard I asked my son for help. He agreed and there he was. All the time I was working and trying to get him to do one thing or another. He would pause and text someone. At first that was okay. But then it got to where I was beginning to get upset. All my commands were met with "I sorry what did you say?" I wanted to dismiss him but I really did need his help. Then it hit me, I wonder how often we do God the same way. "I am sorry what did you say?" Thinking that saying we are sorry will solve everything.

Thank God

Hello Everyone,

I know you will have a hard time believing that God allows things to happen for a good reason. Praise the Lord a man fell out of a cherry picker while trimming tree branches. I am not sure how far he fell, but it just about killed him. The first time I visited him in the hospital, I was not too confident that he would make it. After a week of praying, I returned to an alert man. We had never met before and as soon as he found out who I was, that the church and I have been praying for him, he declared that he needed to get saved. So he called upon the Lord to save him. Afterwards he told me that he thought he was going to die. And he knew that he would go to hell. He then said, "Thank God for allowing me to fall and almost killing myself." I say Amen, God wants all to be saved.

Prepared of God

Hello Everyone,

The great thing about being in the ministry is that you have to learn as you go. There is no way you an be taught or have any clue to what is going to happen. It reminds me of when my wife and I had our first son. When they laid that boy in my arms I was perplexed. What was I going to do? I had no experience nor much knowledge about being a dad. Yet with time and willingness I soon became comfortable with this new roll that I giving by God. Another reason I know that God does all things well.

Saved by Grace

Hello Everyone,

I was out the other day with a very liberal person. I am sure that he thought that I was just nuts, I thought that he was. He is a very smart man with a doctors degree in something. He was a pastor of a church for many years. However his views did not match up biblically. The last thing I shared with him was that I was glad that I al saved by grace through faith in Jesus and Jesus alone. He smiled and had nothing really to say after words. But I am glad that I am saved by grace. Amen!

Trust God

Hello Everyone,

What would you do if God were to ask you to make a sacrifice like He asked Abraham? Many of us will never know because we lack faith and obedience. I am afraid that there will be many mountain top experiences missing for most of us because our faith is weak and our obedience is poor.

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

It has been over one year now since I started Beulah Land Bible Baptist Blog. I have noticed that I have written a little over 250 blogs. It does not seem that long ago that we were introduced to the blog as a ministry. I remember thinking that I would most likely never get a hang of this. Who would have known that an old preacher could still be trained to do more in the ministry. God knew and to Him I give thanks. And I also thank each and everyone of you that have been a faithful reader and encouragement. For I certainly could not have done it by myself. Thanks again
