Rub it In.

Hello Everyone,

Folks are changing the Word of God to satisfy their conscience. I want to remind you that the Word of God is inspired by God, God breathed these words. When we understand that these Words come from God - then we need to allow it to speak to our hearts and make the changes needed in our lives. We are not to change the Word of God! So here is the situation - We read the Word of God and it rubs us wrong or we change the Word of God and it rubs God wrong. I don't believe that we would want God to rubbed the wrong way.

"I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Revelation 22:18,19

Stand Fast

Hello Everyone,

There is a game called Chest. It has 32 pieces of which one opponent has 16 and the other has 16 to start. There are 6 different characters consisting of one King, one Queen, two Bishops, two Knights, two Rooks and eight Ponds. It is a board game that has boundaries. The object is to get your opponent to a place where they submit, give up or Check Mate. This game reminds me of the Christian walk. Whatever you do, you can be sure that the devil is going to try to counter move to try to get you in Check Mate, to submit and give up. Which is a good reason why you need to stand fast in Jesus Christ.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1

Flawless

Hello Everyone,

Anything that is considered valuable is suppose to be without fault. Diamonds in which only 10% are what they call first class. They either a little off color, size, shape or something. Horses, show dogs, master piece paintings or what ever it may be, there is that what is called first class. Now listen, to recognize the true value of something there must be something to compare it to. There had to been a flawless diamond, perfect performance a master piece painting. For you and me that is Jesus.

"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin," Hebrews 4:15

I'm His

Hello Everyone,

Praise the Lord, I am somebody to Jesus. The government says I am a taxpayer and the politicians says that I am a voter. The attorney's call me a client and doctors call me a patient. The school teacher called me a student, my banker calls me a depositor. The airlines call me a passenger and the hotel call me a guest. The TV stations call me a viewer and the radio say that I am a listener. The folks next door call me a neighbor and the church call me a member. But Jesus says Bro Gary, you are mine. I'm His. Amen.

Time is Serious

Hello Everyone,

Hezekiah had just received a letter which contained some bad news in Isaiah 37. Boy don't we hate to get bad news! Hezekiah sent a messenger to Isaiah for some spiritual advice. (How many times have folks never sought out spiritual advice from the man of God) Hezekiah then went to the house of God and spreads out the bad news before God, rent his clothes and cover himself with sackcloth. Hezekiah had found himself in a place where it was time to serious with God. There is a need to learn to spread it before the Lord when times gets serious.

"And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD." Isaiah 37:14

Settle up

Hello Everyone,

The devil and I have two things in common, he hates me and I hate him. Yet, we are taught that we can learn from anyone if only we are willing. I have learned three things from the devil that Christians should be known for. He always shows up for church. He never gives up and he never shuts up. He is ever busy these last days because he knows that his time is running out. Which makes me smile to know that one day he will have to settle up. Amen. What a day that will be.

Just Him

Hello Everyone,

Jesus at the closing of His sermon on the mount preaches with a warning that way of destructions is broad. The way of life eternal is straight and narrow. He goes one to say beware of false prophets (there are many today). Then Jesus also warns us and says, not everyone that says Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus narrowed the way in John 14:6 down to just HIM.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

No Hell

Hello Everyone,

What is beyond the grave? A religious magazine recently asked its readers what they thought. The old fashioned fire and brimstone idea of hell seems to be gone, being replaced by the idea of hell is just an absences of God. Some theologians say this means folks are becoming more concerned about doing good for its own sake - and less of doing good to avoid hell. Truth is no one can do enough good - NO ONE.

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: " Romans 3:10

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9

Safe

Hello Everyone,

Oh what a name is Jesus. A name that God has placed above every name. He is called Wonderful, Counselor, The Lamb of God, Emmanuel, The Bread of Life, The Light, He is called Jesus Christ and whosoever shall call upon His name shall be saved. Praise the Lord when the righteous run into it, they are safe. I am safe in Jesus.

Hanging Around

Hello Everyone,

Many folks like to hang around after church to talk, laugh and fellowship. I like to hang around church folks. I love to see the smiles and laughter. This is joy unspeakable that one gets in Jesus Christ. Life is too short to miserable although some folks aren't happy unless they are miserable. Live each day praising God and sharing with anothers how great God is to you. It will make you feel better and you will be glad you did.

"Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:" 1 Peter 1:8

Sleeping in Church

Hello Everyone,

In the olden days kings believed that God gave them direction in dreams. If they wanted to know what they were supposed to do they would try to receive direct word of God in their dreams. If they weren't getting any messages in their dreams while lying in their own beds, then they would sleep in the temple, where they believed it would work better. This is the origin of the time honored tradition of sleeping in church.

"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed." Romans 13:11

Come Between

Hello Everyone,

Two fellows were having an argument and someone said, "Somebody had better come between those two before someone gets hurt. Praise the Lord someone came between us and God. We was headed down the wrong path. We was not making any head way to solving our differences. So God sent a Mediator. A mediator is an intercessor or middle man to go between those two parties to reconcile any and all differences. Jesus Christ is our Mediator. Amen

Canceled Note

Hello Everyone,

When someone says, "I forgive but I can't forget." It is another way of saying, "I will not forgive." Forgiveness ought to be like a canceled note, a paid up bill, it is to torn up, burned up so that it can never be shown against another again. There is three things about forgiveness. 1) We can not earn it. 2) It is not for sale. 3) If we accept Jesus Christ, we already have it. Many folks today are trying to earn forgiveness of God. Some are trying to buy forgiveness. With Jesus we are already forgiven.

Still Serving

Hello Everyone,

Caleb was a loyal servant. Caleb was one of the 12 spies sent by Moses to spy out the land of Canaan. He was only one of two that came back with a positive report. Because of his steadfast loyalty to the Lord, God rewarded him by letting him survive the years of wilderness wandering. God gave him Hebron as his portion in the promise land. Caleb was 85 and still serving God with love, dedication and knowledge.

Loveth thou Me?

Hello Everyone,

When a man and a woman fall into love, do you suppose that it would be obvious? Sure it would. Why, they would be together all the time, enjoying each other company. They would laugh and talk and walk together. They would not be ashamed, hide it nor use Morse code. Why it would known and seen by everyone. Then would you suppose the it should be obvious if we love Jesus? Sure it should.

Finished

Hello Everyone,

My sons have been required for school to write papers. After they write the required amount of pages they will often give them to their mother to look over. Thinking it is finished they would walk away with big smiles. Then mom tells them that it is not finished there are some mistakes that need correcting. So they go and repair the mistake and once again hand it their mother thinking that they are finished. But no, there is still some mistakes and this goes on for some time. Praise the Lord, when Jesus said it was finished, It was finished.

"Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is Finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." John 19:29-30

Hope In God's Word

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever been convicted about a certain area of your life and you confess that area to God with a promise to never do it again? Many Christians have areas in their lives that you would really like to change or renew. Folks often deal with a certain sins of their life and then 24, 36, maybe 72 hours later they are back doing those same things. Which brings defeat, discouragement and so often they just quit trying. Let me share with you that the hope you and I lack is in God's Holy Word. God can and wants to help.

"But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."

Straighten Out

Hello Everyone,

A fellow was sharing some news that he had heard and before he was able to finish the other fellow said, "I need to straighten you out about that!" Children are going wild and going about doing their thing because they have never been taught. Which it one reason so many are missing out on having a church and God in their lives. They have never been taught. Don't you think that is time for us to take time and pull these aside and straighten them out about the greatest need of all. Jesus saves.

"My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." Proverbs 4:20-22

One Day at a Time

Hello Everyone,

The devil will never ask you to sign ad contract to go to hell. He will never ask anyone to promise that they would never be converted and become a child of God. All the devil wants of any person is one day at a time. The devil doesn't mind folks coming to church of if you don't go to church. He only wants folks to reject Jesus now. Today is the day to come to Jesus.

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Corinthians 6:2

What hast thou Done?

Hello Everyone,

If someone were to come up to you ask the question, "What hast thou done?" You would most likely want to know about what I am talking about. At least before admitting fault. It is only when you understand the question more that you will start to relax. Why is that? Because all have sinned. Remember this also, God already knows the answer.

New Year 2011

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year. I pray that you will have a great new year surrounded by your family and God. As we look toward this new year let us be found once again watching for Jesus. He is coming soon and we are another year closer. I pray that you find comfort knowing this.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
