Feed Back

Hello Everyone,

Every now and then I get some feed back on these devotional I send out. Honestly most are good and some not so good. Which surprises me that there are not more feed back. And to be honest I do look forward to some feed back, because it helps remind me that these are not just being sent out into the blue skies of no return. I also love to receive new thoughts and devotionals from others as well. Feed back is good. Think about this, when one reads the Bible and prays that is what God gets -Feed Back.

Are you Ready?

Hello Everyone,

It is hot! And we are under a heat advisory for the next few days. I can't remember how many folks are complaining about the heat. Yet it is no where near what it would be like in hell. One would think that this would cause some to think. No! Why? Because folks are convinced that this will end soon and they will one day soon be complaining about the cold. True as that is, there is coming a day that this too will come to pass. Just as true, one day, judgement is coming, and no one knows the day nor hour. No one. The real truth will still be, "Are you ready?"

Drowning in Debt

Hello Everyone,

We are all aware that our nation has deep debt problems. And everyone on capital hill is working to get some sort of resolve. Well, I was watching the news this morning and there was this Lawyer/CPA proclaiming this statement, "Drowning in debt" We can help. Hmmm, I wonder if capital hill has considered calling this fellow. His advertisement was so sincere and I just know that he can help. If we were sincere, we could see the root of the matter. We would see that the love for money and kicking God out, has caused us great problems. Now do you still wonder why we have so many sorrows.

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10

Sinned

Hello Everyone,

Well Charley, my dog, has been doing his thing. The boys put up a badminton net in the back yard and Charley thought it would be a good idea to bring it down and he did. When I came outside, he came running with such pride of what he had done. When he heard my voice he knew then it was not such a good thing. Then my wife came out and he saw her reaction, he tucked his tail and tried to hide. This was good example of Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." But Charley did not know better, he does now.

Watch Your Step

Hello Everyone,

I have been watching these fellows build and deck on the house behind where I live. Now they are starting to put a roof over part of it. As they where working on the roof, these fellows were walking across the roof, and I notice that they were walking cautiously. Each step was a planned step with some checking to be sure that it was safe. It reminded me of how we as Christians are to be the same as we move about in this world we live in. Cautiously and watching where we step.

The Greatest Sin

Hello Everyone,

The world doesn't really know what sin is. They think sin is lying, stealing, murder, adultery, arson, rape, and they are sins. Do you know what the greatest sin is? The greatest sin is the rejection of Jesus Christ that will damn a soul to hell. You don't go to hell because you steal, lie, kill, or fornicate. I hear people say, “Sure, I lie every now and again, but God isn't going to send me to hell for that. When someone talks that way, they don't understand sin. Because all have sinned and you are condemned already. God loved you so much that He sent His only Begotten Son to pay your sin debt so that you will not go to hell. But you have to come to Jesus for the He is the only way.

“He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18

Remembering

Hello Everyone,

Do you have difficulty remembering things? Someone said, “My memory is what I forget with.” Thankfully, we have the Holy Spirit, who has a ministry to our subconscious. He is there not only to teach you the Truth, but also to help you recall the Truth and apply the Truth in every situation. Over and over again, the Holy Spirit has done this in my life in the midst of preaching, witnessing, or counseling. You may not have a formal education, but you can still be a counselor to others in trouble. Why? Because God lives within you. When you walk in the Spirit, He will give you the words to speak in season to someone who is weary. But He cannot remind you unless you first learn it. So open your Bible and learn all you can.

“The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” Isaiah 50:4

Pray for the Lost

Hello Everyone,

Do you know what the average prayer request is about? Physical healing. “Pray for my aunt who is a Christian and she is about to die.” “Pray for my saved uncle who is having heart surgery.” How many prayer meetings have you been to where people asked for prayer for their lost neighbor who is going to hell? More often than not we are more interested in keeping the saints out of heaven than we are in keeping the lost out of hell. It is not a tragedy to die and go to heaven. It is a tragedy to die and go to hell. Friend, it’s time we elevated our prayers outside of the physical realm of life into the spiritual realm. Take a look at your prayer list today—where are the lost who need to be saved? What are you doing to help them find their way?

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

Testing Faith

Hello Everyone,

You know the story of Joshua and how the wall of Jericho fell down after the Israelites marched around it once a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh day? Why not just walk around Jericho one time? I think it was because God was testing their faith. God was teaching them that waiting time is not wasted time. Isaiah 28:16 says “... he that believeth shall not make haste." God is never in a hurry, like we are. We get upset when we miss a section in a revolving door! God is also never late. He knows what He is doing. Do you know what most of our problem is? We've been around Jericho six times and we're ready to quit or have already quit

Something Wrong?

Hello Everyone,

What does it mean to have a clear conscience? As far as you know, there is nothing wrong between you and God. And there is nothing wrong between you and anybody else. But you jump every time the doorbell rings. Trust me, no torture compares to the pain of a bad conscience. You know you've sinned and yet you have done nothing about it. The trials of life are easier to face when you have a clear conscience. Then when something bad happens you can know that you haven't done anything wrong.
Is there something nagging at you—something you know you need to confess to your Heavenly Father? What about something between you and someone else. There is no better day than today to make it right.

"And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men." Acts 24:16

Control

Hello Everyone,

Every now and then there is someone killed by someone using a gun. With that those folks who want gun control get all fired up. In a way, it is silly to think that taking guns away will solve the problem of folks getting killed. Yet there is a need for gun control. Those who have guns need to be able to control their guns. If you have little children then you need to have your guns in a safe place. As your children grow older then there is need to train them right and wrong with the handling of guns. Gun control is everyone responsibility.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

That Face

Hello Everyone,

I believe that you have the right to wear whatever face you choose. However, I do believe that you need to think about what others are having to look at. It is not all about you and what is going on in your life. It is all about who you represent. If you are a Christian then you represent Jesus. If Jesus were to come and spends day or two with you, would you wear that face? Okay I have made my point.

"O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed." Psalms 32:3-5

Announcement

Hello Everyone,

I was helping with the collection for the Crusade for Children this year. What I found so hard to believe is that folks will throw their cigarette butts out of the window right at your feet. One fireman said, "Hey you drop something." But they just smiled and went on about their way. Let me ask, "Is throwing your cigarette butts out the window of your car littering?"
Sure it is and we have plenty of wild fires around the county to prove it. Please use caution when it comes to throwing lit cigarettes out. Thanks and no charge for this public announcement.

There is a Differnce

Hello Everyone,

Tomatoes season again. There is none better than home grown tomatoes and you know that you can tell the difference. Store bought tomatoes usually have a thicker tougher skin. Yet some are hard to tell the differences. Same applies to Christians, after a closer examination you can usually tell which are Home grown and the ones that are store bought. The Home grown usually have a better look and a way better taste in their mouth for the things of God. After some time you can usually see the differences. Oh, by the way, God knows the differences.

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual." 1 Corinthians 2:12,13

Kindness goes a Long Way

Hello Everyone,

Lets be kind this week and do something for others. Something that you have not done before and for someone that you may not even know personally. Like take someone in the military and buy his or hers lunch or dinner. Maybe help an elderly with some yard work. Who knows what kindness you show will do for another. I am sure that it will bring a smile to your face.

So Everyone will Know

Hello Everyone,

Church is Sunday and allow me to speak out for a moment about these days we live. With new modern churches and the big screens, there is no need to have hymnbooks nor bibles. They just display all the words right there before your eyes. Also churches have become more lacks in the kind and type of clothes folks wear. So what do we have? We have folks going to church but without the looks and the Word of God in their hands. So now your neighbors can't tell where you are going! Please don't allow this to happen to you, carry your Bible with you to church this Sunday and dress accordingly.

"Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Romans 1:19-20

Racing Through

Hello Everyone,

It is hard to believe that it is July already. This year is racing through. And I am not just talking just about me because I am getting older. Everyone knows that the older you get the faster time flies. I have heard many young people say that same thing. With time racing by, one must needs to be about the more important things in life. That would be those eternal things. Heaven and Hell both are forever, it is up to you, don't put it off.

Ready for Death

Hello Everyone,

Death is many times sudden and without warning. Yet death can stand and around stare at you for days and ever weeks on end. So how does one get prepared for death? Jesus has the answer in John 3:7 "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." To be ready for death one most be Born Again - saved. No one knows when death will show up, only that death will show up, the question will always be, "Are you ready?"

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

Pray fro America

Hello Everyone,

In 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. We became one nation under God, a free nation independent of all. Here we are 235 years later and we are more independent then ever. America is becoming independent of God. A nation that despitefully uses God. That my friends is a nation that can not stand. Pray for America to get back to the Bible and God.

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” Matthew 5:44

Quenching your Thirst

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever been outside working in your garden or bicycling or playing basketball and become very thirsty? You go inside and perhaps grab a soda. It tastes great and seems to hit the spot. You return to your activity and you get thirsty and go for another soda. It is good and satisfying at first, but just doesn't seem to keep you quenched. Finally you fill a tall glass with water and you're satisfied. Why is that? Well, if you look at the ingredients on the soda container, it says it is artificially colored and/or flavored and/or sweetened. It doesn't have that touch of authenticity. There are a lot of us who are trying to satisfy our thirst with things that are artificial when what we need is the water of life, Jesus Christ! When was the last time you quenched your spiritual thirst with the sparkling refreshment of time spent with God?

“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14
