If we will commit ourselves to the Lord, fall in Love with His person, and all we do and say are directed toward the praise and worship of Him, then our thoughts will automatically be established in Him. When Jesus becomes the center of your life then everything you say and do cause you to think of Him.

Scared to Death

Hello Everyone,
Have you ever had someone to come around a corner or jump out and scare you half to death? This frightening experience was brought about not to hurt you, but just for fun. But if you are the one being scared, it takes away your breathe and your heart starts to race. And that is all that you can think of for the next few minutes. I sometimes imagine that is what it would be like for those to die and go to hell, only it will not be for fun.

“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”  Luke 12:5

Going to Church

Hello Everyone,  
I would that folks would really understand the importance of being faithful to Church. I saw a fellow that was giving himself a shot in the stomach for diabetes. I talked with him and he told me that it was necessary to stay faithful with these shots to maintain his good health. Actually, church attendance is the shot that is necessary to maintain your good health.

Ask for It

Hello Everyone,
Have you ever had a time you may have been at a restaurant and ordered a meal. The waiter or waitress brings it and you begin to enjoy it. Your meal is prepared just as you ordered it and is delicious. Then you look over at the next table and they have the exact same thing but with onion rings instead of fries. You begin to think, hey why didn’t I get that too? The answer is simple, you didn’t ASK for what they have. Sometimes we are shortchanged in life not because it is not available to us but because we did not ASK.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7: 7-8

Guarding your Heart

Hello Everyone,  
We put up fences to guard our yard from outsiders and to guard others from our pets. We build large buildings with locks to protect our belongings. We put our money in safe places like a bank or a vault. Why? Because all of these thing are of value to us. But what do we do to guard our heart. In Proverbs we are told to keep or guard our heart because it is where all of life stems from. One must focus on what really matters. Don’t let Satan drag you off course. Don’t let the world entice you. Guarding our heart will help us in our talk & walk.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23

Love

Hello Everyone,
We live in a society today that is give me oriented. It is kind of like saying “If I love you, then what’s in it for me?”  However, this is not true love. Love is showing adoration and compassion for something or someone else. If you love something or someone you should not be looking at what you get, but how can I give. When you came to Jesus, you loved Him because He first loved you… How did you know He loved you? He gave of Himself for you when you had nothing to give back of the same value as what he gave. He also knew you never would be able to give Him anything which could repay what He had done on the cross of Calvary. Still, He loved you enough to do it anyway.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

Being Informed

Hello Everyone,
Television, Radio, and the Newspaper all claim the most accurate coverage of what is happening. They even tell you that being informed is your right. OK, to know right you will want to know all of what God says. Well that can‘t happen unless you read God’s Word. And you can know this, if you know Jesus as your Saviour, the Holy Spirit who resides in you knows the whole book from front to back. Although, this does not get you off the hook of reading Gods word. The Bible is what God uses to guides you. So read the Bible, trust God and ask God for direction in your daily walk with the Lord and be informed to what is right.


“When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:” Proverbs 2:10-11

In Debt

Hello Everyone,
I know there are some Christians who say we are not to be in debt at all. This seems from time to time impossible. However being a good steward of what God entrusts us with means keeping that debt manageable and to a minimum. Let’s not owe our life to the world. Why should we? We gave it to God.

Stand Up

Hello Everyone,
The President of the United States enters a room, people stand. When the judge enters the court room folks stand. Why? Out of respect for the position they have obtained and their place in leadership over us. After the reading when Ezra had offered blessings and praise to the Lord the people did three things. They lifted their hands with palms open. They said Amen with their voice. Then they bowed their face to the ground in a show of worship. God is still worthy of all this and much more.

“And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up: And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.” Nehemiah 8:5, 6

God owns it all

Hello Everyone,
If God owns it all, why does it seem He is so greedy with His money? The answer is He’s not. He is trying to teach us a life lesson. We are not to be careless with what He gives us, nor are we to be greedy. Life is more than money. God loves to supply for all our needs and have us to realize He is doing it. God is so generous to us. The problem is what is God getting in return?

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

Being You

Hello Everyone,  
We have just finished 2011 and what have you done last year to bring God pleasure? Have you lead someone to the saving knowledge of Jesus? Did you Remember Him daily in praying and Bible reading? God finds pleasure in just you just being you. He wants you to witness, read your Bible and pray. Those things bring about blessings in your life. But they are not conditions of His love. He loves you and finds pleasure in just you. Just because you’re you, and that alone should make you want to love Him. Moreover your love brings Him pleasure

Putting them Together

Hello Everyone,  
  I love to put together puzzles. At times there seemed to always be a puzzle piece that stays lying on the table. It doesn’t seem to fit anywhere. Many times someone in the family would stop and take a look for a few pieces and place them where they needed to be. Once in a while we would lose a piece. How discouraging to get a puzzle all completed and one piece be missing. Later when we would find that one of the cats had carried it off.
Our lives are much like these puzzles. We want to believe we have it all together. Only God who has seen the whole plan together can really know about how our life fits. He sees the beginning and the end. We might try to fit here and try to fit there, but without God’s guidance we will just be a piece out of place.

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Meeting at God's House

Hello Everyone,
I love my wife she is my best friend. Now think, it would be crazy to just want a picture of her and not want to be where she and spend time with her. Knowing the church is the body of Christ, it makes no sense to me for people not to want to be around the body of Christ if they truly Love the Lord. God is a God of order. It is God’s will that folks meet to worship Him. There is a need for a place to preach the gospel? Where the lost can come for salvation and the saved can come for instructions and knowledge. Start to prepare today to be in God’s house with God’s people for God’s purpose on the day set aside by God’s plan. See you in Church on Sunday.

It Happens

Hello Everyone,
When others hurt us, because it happens, God asks us to do as He has done. We are to make a choice to forgive. This means we are to make a conscious decision not to hold the sins of someone else toward us to their account. Is that hard to do? Yes. However if God can forgive us for everything and make it like it never happened, should we not also forgive them? No doubt at times they don’t know what they have done. Forgiving people frees us from carrying around a lot of the baggage of hurt and resentfulness. Let’s just give it to Jesus and let Him handle it.

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”  Luke 23:34

Forgiving

Hello Everyone,  
God knows everything. He knows all the past, the present and also the future which we know nothing of yet. However we are told in the Bible that God will not remember our sins any more. They are gone from His super giant all knowing memory. How can this be?  There is only one answer. It’s because He chooses to forget our sins.

“And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”  Hebrews 10:17

Encourage Them

Hello Everyone,  
When God opens the door for another, (especially a brother or sister in the Lord), don’t reject them. Instead rejoice with them, help and encourage them. Who knows, they might be your leader some day and be able to help promote you to where God really wanted you to be. Even if not, you receive a blessing just by obeying God’s word.

“But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.”  Deuteronomy  3:28
