Think on These Things

Hello Everyone,
I have a dear friend that told me early in my ministry that after you have been in the ministry for 15 years you worry about what others think of you. After  25 years you don't care what they think of you. Then after you have been in it for 30 years you will discover that they haven't been thinking of you at all.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” Philippians 4:8,9

Place to Serve

Hello Everyone,
At the sportsman club we have a map of the property posted on the wall. During hunting season we are to take a pin with our name and mark the area we are going to hunt. It works great. One day I thought about that map and wondered if God has a pin with our name on it, marking the area we are to serve.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”  Colossians 3:23-24

Need of Help

Hello Everyone,
I know that this has never happened to you, but I have a project that I would love to get started and finished. It does however required that I have some help. Help that doesn’t seem to be able to help when I need it. So what is it that I need to do? I shall give them the burden of the project. Amen?

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

Spare Wheel Prayers

Hello Everyone,
Allow me the opportunity to remind you that praying is not just a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble; it is “the steering wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life. Amen.

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;”  1 Timothy 2:1

Know What You Believe

Hello Everyone,
Belief is important: Jonathan Whitfield was preaching to coal miners in England. He asked one man, "What do you believe?" "Well, I believe the same as the church." "And what does the church believe?" "Well, they believe the same as me." Seeing he was getting nowhere, Whitfield said, "And what is it that you both believe?" "Well, I suppose the same thing."

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
1 John 5:13

Deceived News

Hello Everyone,
What I have seen a lot of lately is folks are more inclined to believe those whom they do not know with truth. Why? Because they have never deceived them. A fellow once told me that he heard it from the news media. Yea, Well the news media would not deceive you, right!

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”  Galatians 6:7,8

Opportunity Dressed Up

Hello Everyone,
Thomas Edison said, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." That is a great statement more so today. So many folks today are just not willing to out all the work needed to accomplish the little things. I told one of my sons one time, that he put as much into the job as he did trying to get out of it. He would be a millionaire.

“Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”  Hebrews 13:21

“Another World”

Hello Everyone,
This world is not my home I am just a passing through. My home is somewhere up beyond the blues. Amen.  If nothing in this world satisfies you, perhaps it is because you were made for another world.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”  1 John 5:4

“Unbelief”

Hello Everyone,
The story was told, that the folks in England refuse to believe even with evidence. When explorers first went to Australia they found a mammal which laid eggs; spent some time in water, some on land; had a broad, flat tail, webbed feet, and a bill similar to a duck. Upon their return to England, they shared stories of this creature and all felt it was a hoax. They returned to Australia and found a pelt from this animal and took it back to England, but the people still felt it was a hoax. In spite of the evidence, they did not believe, mainly because they didn't want to believe. Same is said of many who although they saw Jesus, they would not believe.

“Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.”  Mark 16:14

“Thankful Fathers”

Hello Everyone,
I am thankful for my dad. He taught me more than just how to do things. I remember his patience, his compassion and unconditional love for his family. His sense of humor keeps us laughing, and the stories he would tell from his youth got bigger and better every time he told them! If your dad is alive be sure to tell him that you love him. Only remember the good times and share them with your children.

“Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.”  Proverbs 17:6

“Not with Jesus”

Hello Everyone,
Praise God the friendship of Jesus lasts. Other friends may grow old and cold. Not with Jesus. Other friends may possibly misunderstand us, not with Jesus. His love is the same in youth as in old age. In fact the friendship will rather grow stronger in old age. When you have lost what to you seems like everything, and you find yourself friendless and alone, despised and forsaken, not with Jesus.

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Hebrews 13:5,6

“Get Over It”

Hello Everyone,
More time is wasted not only in hours but in minutes. A bucket with a small hole in the bottom gets just as empty as a bucket that is deliberately kicked over. Every day folks lose precious minutes by allowing someone to rob them of their joy.  Get over it.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”  Psalms 51:10-12

Friday the 13th

Hello Everyone,
Okay it is Friday the 13th. A day which is considered by many to be unlucky. Funny thing is that you can not find the word lucky in the Word of God. So we are not to base our feelings, circumstances or happenings upon luck. We are to live by faith. That is what pleases God.

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.: Hebrews 11:6

Faith that Pleases

Hello Everyone,
The psalmist tells us to give thanks to God because "he is good." It is so true. God is good and He has been so good to us. Goodness is part of His nature. Goodness is not just what God does, it is the essence of His being. He does good because He is good. The best thing that has ever happened to us is to know God.

“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalms 107:1

All of Him

Hello Everyone,
Everyone knows what it is like to have a toothache. I had one a little while back and tried to take care of it myself. All was well for a little while but then one day boom. I did not want to tell my wife because I knew what she would tell me to do. (Did I mention that I hate dentists.) I knew if I went to the dentist he would probe around and maybe find some other things that needed attending to. (I really do hate dentist)
Folks do the same thing with Jesus. They come to Him for the cure or help. But what they don’t like is when Jesus gets to probing around and finds more that needs attention. Jesus will always give you the full treatment. With Jesus you don’t just get part of Him -You get all of Him.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 5:9

Him that is True

Hello Everyone,
Now let this wander around in your head for a moment. An estimated 74 percent of Americans strongly agree that there is only one true God, who is holy and perfect, and who created the world and rules it today. Now, listen  only 65 percent of American’s either strongly agree or somewhat agree with the assertion that there is no such thing as absolute truth. Hmmmm…

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”  1 John 5:20,21

Something to Think About

Hello Everyone,
What if you were given say $2,000.00 at the start of each day to use as you see fit, the only stipulation being that you must give back what you haven't spent by the end of the day? Could you spend it all? Or would you live comfortable and be willing to give back as much as you can? Hey, just something to think about.

“I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”  Acts 20:35

The Plan

Hello Everyone,
The Plan of  The Roman's Road to Salvation has been a traditional way of leading persons to faith in Christ for many years. Here is a brief outline of that plan.
1. Every human is a sinner. Romans 3:23
2. God's penalty for sin is death. Romans 6:23
3. In His great love, God has made provision for the salvation of sinners. Romans 5:8
4. Each person must put his trust in God's Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10, 13

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Romans 10:13

Done all things Well

Hello Everyone,
I am always telling folks to Remember Always, “God does all things well.” And God does do all things well. Please try to remember that  you are the only one who can keep you from becoming the person God wants you to be. And you the one thing that God wants to do well.

“And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: …..” Mark 7:37

Forth of July

Hello Everyone,
Happy Forth of July. A day we celebrate the independence of our nation. Use this day to help remind you why we are a nation of freedom. But freedom cost a great price. To remain a great nation we are going to keep fighting for our freedom. Our fight is at the polls this November for freedom. God has blessed this nation, because we have in the past wholly followed God. I for one want this nation to return back to God. This election can help turn us back to God and the freedom we enjoy.

"And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart."  Jeremiah 24:7
