Torch still Lit

Hello Everyone,  
It is Friday and another week is finished. The Greeks had a race in their Olympic games that was unique. The winner was not the runner who finished first. It was the runner who finished with his torch still lit. That is our job as Christians, to finish our course with the flame of our torch still lit for Him.

"FLOG"

Now here is something to think about. The word  “Golf”  is  “Flog”  spelled backward. Webster definition of Flog, in case you were wondering, is "To beat or strike hard and repeatedly with a cane." Just thought you ought to know.

Fishing

Hello Everyone,  
I am amazed that I am not able to just catch fish all day long. I have this thought in my mind that says that if that lure is good enough to get me to buy it then the fish ought to want to bite on it. Amen  A fishing enthusiast thinks that fish should bite on a fancy lure just because he did.

Healing

I have found that one of life's major mistakes is being the last member in the family to come down with the flu -- by then all the sympathy has run out. Thank you Jesus for your healing in sickness.

Romans Road

Hello Everyone,  
The Plan of salvation is found and used to what is called the Roman's Road to Salvation. It has been a traditional way of leading persons to Jesus Christ for many years. Here is a brief outline of that plan.
1. Every human is a sinner. Romans 3:23
2. God's penalty for sin is death. Romans 6:23
3. In His great love, God has made provision for the salvation of sinners. Romans 5:8
4. Each person must put his trust in God's Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10, 13

When I was growing up, I was not allowed to say “I can’t”  When faced with a problem, we were encouraged to get busy and figure out a way to do it! Don't give up! Keep on keeping on and most of those “can’t” will be turned into “I can with Jesus.”

Rewind

Hello Everyone,  
Police stopped a teen-age girl that had been going around her neighborhood in reverse for some time. The girl told police that her parents had let her use the car, but she had put too much mileage on it. "I was just trying to unwind some of it," That is the way so many treat sin. After going too far they then want to rewind back.

Wrong Direction

Hello Everyone,  
Here is some teen facts that shows that we are not going in the right direction. Since the popular push for contraceptives for teens began, teenage sexual activity and pregnancy have increased 400%. 70% of unwed teen mothers will go on welfare. Of teens who marry because of pregnancy, 60% will be divorced in five years.
Today we have a push to control guns. Australia pulled all the guns from their citizens a few years back and now have crime up 600%.  No the direction is wrong and it is up to you and I to turn it around.

Mirror - Mirror

Why would 94% of American men want to change something about their looks if they could. And then 99% of American women would change something about their looks if they could. The problem must be mirrors we are looking into.

Small Sins

It is the small sins that keeps us from running our race. One man who accomplished a rare achievement of walking across the USA when asked to tell of his biggest hurdle. He said that the toughest part of the trip wasn't traversing the steep slopes of the mountains or crossing hot, dry, barren stretches of desert. Instead, he said, "The thing that came the closest to defeating me was the sand in my shoes."

Nature of Sin

Hello Everyone,  
Best examine of our sin nature. How does a worm get inside an apple? Perhaps you think the worm burrows in from the outside. No, the worm comes from inside. But how does he get in there? Simple! An insect lays an egg in the apple blossom. Sometime later, the worm hatches in the heart of the apple, then eats his way out. Sin, like the worm, begins in the heart and works out through a person's thoughts, words, and actions.

No One Knows

Hello Everyone,
Many years ago a fellow electronically fixed a loaded shotgun in front of a chair. Folks could take their time before the gun looking directly into the gunbarrel. The gun was loaded and set on a timer to fire at an undetermined moment within the next hundred years. The amazing thing was that people waited in lines to sit and stare into the shell's path! They all knew the gun could go off at point-blank range at any moment, but they were gambling that the fatal blast wouldn't happen during their minute in the chair. Yes, it was foolhardy, yet many people who wouldn't dream of sitting in that chair and take that chance, live everyday not knowing where they would spend eternity. Heaven or Hell.

Don't Do It!

A school teacher lost her life savings in a business scheme that had been elaborately explained by a swindler. When her investment disappeared and her dream was shattered, she went to the Better Business Bureau. "Why on earth didn't you come to us first?" the official asked. "Didn't you know about the Better Business Bureau?" "Oh, yes," said the lady sadly. "I've always known about you. But I didn't come because I was afraid you'd tell me not to do it."
Oh how true this is that even though we know where the answers lie--God's Word--we don't turn there for fear of what it will say.
