Real Punishment

Hello Everyone,
Roughly one half of all fatal highway accidents--which average between 50,000 and 55,000 year after year--involve alcohol. Yet the convicted are released early or not punished to the fullest of the law. Maybe that is where we can start to see a change. Everyone caught or charged with alcohol while driving, have 25 years with no patrol. Hmm. Lives would change, if only for a little while.

“When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.” Proverbs 21:11

Wasted Talents

Hello Everyone,
The older I get the more I see where folks have allowed their talents to go to waste. Why? You're never too young or too old if you've got talent. To God be the glory, age has little or nothing to do with ability. I believe that it is a mind thing, where our bodies are saying go ahead and our mind is saying, “I don’t want to.”

“For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.”  Ecclesiastes   9:1

Money

Hello Everyone,
No matter what comes along in life folks seem to be able to withstand it, pick themselves up and move on. Now when it comes to prosperity, well that is a whole another story. A lot of folks really do have a hard time managing money. Maybe it is because the love of money stresses folks.

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”  1Timothy 6:10

Adjustments

Hello Everyone,
I have found that adjustments in Life is a continuous process of getting used to things we hadn't expected. No one knows what a day will bring. But we do know who is charge of the day. Praise the Lord.

“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Proverbs 27:1

Stay Faithful Anyway

Hello Everyone,
When talking to folks about their children the one thing that comes up often these days is what happen to my children that caused them to go wrong? They would share with me that they kept them in church and Sunday school. Prayed together, read their Bible together, they tithed, and stayed close to the Lord. The only answer that could be is that we are teaching our children all about God and godliness but we have failed to teach them about a real live devil that is busy doing all he can to destroy, defeat and demolish their lives. He is walking about and no one notices.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”   1 Peter 5:8

Praise the Lord

Hello Everyone,
Well as you read this it is actually March 8. There are days that God gives me a whole lot of writing at one time. Boy I love those days. It is during those days that I am, with God’s help, able to get a lot done. I must work while I can, there will come a day that I may not be able to work.

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4

No Wood

Hello Everyone,
My wife bought a small wood burning pit for our new patio outside. The boys love to sit out there beside the fire and cook and talk. There is something amazing about fire. As the fire dies down one night one of the boys said that are really only two reason for a fire to burn down. Don’t add anymore wood or cut off its supply of oxygen. Funny the Bible says the same thing about fires and talebearers.

“Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.”
Proverbs 26:20

Science

Hello Everyone,
Science in all its abilities can not come up any where close to God and His abilities. The story is told a scientists who challenge God. He could make life from dirt as well. God accepted the challenge. The man reach down to get a handful of dirt. And God said, “No sir, get your own dirt!” Life is not in the dirt, life is in the blood. Amen

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”
Leviticus 17:11

Rich and Successful

Hello Everyone,
It is the hearts desire of this generation to rich and successful. And there is nothing wrong with that. The trouble I see is that it draws them away from God. When one is rich or successful they soon feel no need for God. And that is where the real trouble begins. Do you suppose that is what has happened to American?

“He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.” Proverbs 11:28

News Reel

Hello Everyone,
Remember in the old days when a news reel was playing, everyone would crowd around and listen. Each person doing their best to hear. Getting as close and as quiet as possible. Everyone wanted to hear. No one wanted to get it second hand, they wanted to the news themselves. It was that way with God’s Word. What has happened in these days where folks don’t draw near and stand for the Word of God?

“And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.’ Leviticus 9:5

Broken Down

Hello Everyone,
I was driving along and all of the sudden the traffic was at a stop. What could be the trouble? I could see a bucket truck ahead but nothing else. After a short period of time we were moving again, it was then I was able to see the trouble. Somebody ran off the road and broke the telephone pole into, I mean to tell you that the upper part of the pole was dangling in the air. My first reaction was to pray that no one was really hurt and then as I looked again upon that broken telephone pole it reminded me that communication was now interrupted. An accident had caused a break down. Many times our communication is broken down with God by an accident. No problem, just get connected up as soon as possible. Amen

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Listen Up

Hello Everyone,
I have found that talking to God is easy. Listening to Him is where most folks have the struggle. However, if you really want to hear from Him, you also need to talk with Him. He loves to communicate with us, but communication is a two way street. Talk with Him today, and as you read His word, listen for that still small voice.

“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” Luke 11:1

Shooting Straight

Hello Everyone,
A friend of mine, showed me a small film of his sling shot adventure. He and his girlfriend was harness into this chair that was hooked up to rubber cords. It is nothing more than a sling shot for people. They pulled it back and released it and off they went, shot straight up into the skies, only to have their guts ripped out from the sudden stop and return. That my friend does not sound like fun to me. I think that I shall stay right here on God’s green earth, until He shoots me into the skies. Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

Casting it all

Hello Everyone,
If today seems to have crept up with all of the worries and concerns of this world, and you feel as though there is little or no hope, let me invite you to do as the Psalmist, along with millions of others who felt this way have done. Place all your concerns, worries, fears, and sorrows into your faith in the Lord.

“Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”  1 Peter 5:7

Tax Season

Hello Everyone,
Well it is tax season again and folks are looking for loop holes. You know those little areas that you pretty much convince yourself that it is okay. Then you sweat the rest of the year worrying about an audit. Well, there is coming a day when we all shall be audit before God, both the saved and unsaved. Are you ready?

“But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:10-12

Joy in Heaven

Hello Everyone,
Everyone knows someone who has passed away. We may also know by their life and faith in God here on earth that today they are in heaven. However, let us not forget, until God calls us home individually or in the rapture, it is our responsibility to share the gospel with everyone. Remember, everyone we meet is someone’s son or someone’s daughter. You may be the cause of the joy in the presence of the angels of God over a sinner that repents.

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” Luke 15:10

God's Supply

Hello Everyone,
There are times, if you were to listen to some, one might get the idea that people who do not have any material things are somehow living outside of the will of God. If they were living right and were in God’s will, God would surely bless them with prosperity. The Bible says a person who is a believer in Jesus Christ as their Saviour will be supplied all their need. If they need money, God will give them a way to earn it. If they need food, God knows how to provide that as well. All because God can.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19

Fidgeted

Hello Everyone,
My sons in church fidgeted the whole time. They would squirm, lean foreword and then lean back. They was just constantly moving, until I would do my own leaning and tell them to be still listen. This would last for a little while. There is need for all of us to be still and listen when it comes to The Word of God.

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

God's Word

Hello Everyone,
As you prepare to read God’s word today, (And I pray that you will) before you begin, you might bow for a moment and ask God to place within your heart a fervent desire to hear from Him today. There is nothing wrong with devotional, they are just another story. Let us get excited about hearing from God and His Word.

Awesome

Hello Everyone,
Here is something for you to do tonight. Look into the sky and see all the stars and planets God has made, then think of how awesome God is. It should also be a time to remind you each of the mighty works of a God. Then remember, the mighty work God did in your heart when He saved you from your sin, that was awesome as well.

“By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.” Psalm 33:6

Ends with Jesus

Hello Everyone,
The ultimate will of God is that none should perish and all should come to repentance. If you believe what God says about this and trust His Son for salvation you can and will be saved. Believe those promises about your soul from God and you shall have them. It all begins with faith and ends with Jesus Christ.
