Working on it

Hello Everyone,
A young daughter was working so diligently at her homework that her father became curious and asked her what she was doing. “I'm writing a report on the condition of the world and how to bring peace," she replied.    "Isn't that a pretty big order for a young girl?" her father asked. "Oh, no," she answered, "and don't worry. There are three of us in the class working on it!"  Forgive us all for not working on it!

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”  Matthew 5:9

Perfect Law

Hello Everyone,
It is a wise person who lives by a system of rules and guidelines and conducts himself according to those principles. We often hear criticism of rules and accusations of legalism because we seek to adhere to the principles of godliness and behavior found in the Word of God. Satan has deceived many into believing that laws are only confining and restrictive, and that freedom and pleasure are found in the absence of rules. But, the Bible teaches differently. The Scripture says, "The law of the wise is a fountain of life." Of course, the perfect law, which we should all seek to learn and live by, is found in the Holy Scripture. The person who will be taught by the Word of God, and will determine to follow its precepts, will find that it is a "fountain of life."
God is the Creator of life and the Source of true life. He promises us eternal life in Heaven, as well as an abundant life on earth. Our Lord is very interested in our experiencing the best that life can offer. He wants us to know that life is not found in rejecting and rebelling against His Word, but in receiving and believing His Word and walking in His precepts

"The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death."  Proverbs 14:13

Dropped It

Hello Everyone,
I heard about a little girl who said to her mother, “Do you remember that priceless vase we all love so much that’s been handed down to our family from one generation to another generation?” The mother said, “Yes.” The little girl sheepishly revealed, “Well, this generation just dropped it.”
Now friend, this generation cannot afford to drop it. The faith that we enjoy must be handed down from generation to generation. We must not drop this priceless heirloom that God has placed into our hands. The early Christians turned the world upside down. Their charge and ours today is the same—to rescue the perishing and care for the dying, to go to the helpless one and tell them Jesus saves.

“Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.” Psalms 71:18

One Step at a Time

Hello Everyone,
We are changed from glory to glory by the power of the Holy Spirit. That doesn’t mean it happens overnight. But one step at a time.  Today you ought to have a little more glory than yesterday. Today you ought to be a little bit more like Jesus than you were yesterday. And tomorrow, you ought to be even more like Jesus. Are you becoming like Jesus? Not if you’re not in the Word. Don’t you think it’s time for this generation to get serious about the Word of God? Set aside a time and a place to get alone with Him every day and pray,

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Mean Business

Hello Everyone,
In Old Testament days, when a tribe commenced war, they would sometimes hurl a spear into enemy territory. It made no difference whether the enemy was there or not. It really wasn’t for the enemy to see. It was a declaration of war. Some would call it a throwing down of the gauntlet. You may be reading this, wanting the victory in something today, and yet you haven’t let your arrow of faith fly into the enemy’s territory. Faith that acts is a good way to bring the enemy into submission.
We don’t fight our enemy with actual bows and arrows, instead we fight him with the weapons of prayer and the Word. When we pray, we face the foe. By letting the arrow of prayer fly, God moves in, and our prayer becomes the Lord’s deliverance. God does business with those who mean business.

“And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.” Psalm 37:40

Abilities

Hello Everyone,
God has given you abilities and God wants you to take those abilities and invest them in Him. Friend, it is a sin for you to be less than what God called you to be. Sure, you may not be the next Einstein, Babe Ruth, Betty Crocker, or Billy Graham. But that’s not the point. The danger is that you will not do what you can do.
There are three people inside you - 1. Who you are right now, 2. Who you could be for evil if you allowed the devil to get a hold of you, 3. Who you could be for God.
I pray you will give your all to God for Him to use you.

“And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.”  Luke 18:29-30

Mixed Emotions

Hello Everyone,
On the night of Jesus’ arrest, Peter denied Jesus — three times! In spite of his lack of loyalty, Jesus extended an invitation of mercy to Peter and said, “Come and dine.” There on the shores of the Sea of Galilee after His resurrection, Jesus came to Peter and prepared a table of restoration. Can you imagine what was going through Peter’s mind? Guilt and gladness, fear and fascination, wonder and worship, a whole mess of mixed emotions! He could not believe that he was being invited to the table of the One he had deserted just days before. And not only was he being invited but restored! The depth of Jesus’ covenant love is not exhausted when we sin. There is forgiveness and restoration.

“He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.” Job 33:28

Having Understanding

Hello Everyone,
Is God righteous? Yes! How is the righteousness of God revealed? It is revealed from faith to faith. God gives you truth; you believe that truth; then God gives you more truth. The more you obey the light, the more light you get. The reason some of us don’t understand the Bible any more than we do is because we have not been living up to the light that God has already given us. If you want to understand the part of the Bible that you don’t understand, then begin to obey the part that you do understand. Then you’ll begin to understand what you didn’t understand. Ask God for faith that will help reveal to you the hidden truths of His Word that are hard for you to understand right now.

“Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.” Psalm 119:34

Church Services

Hello Everyone,
When entering in any church service, the congregation preaches more than half the sermon. The congregation brings an atmosphere with it. The atmosphere is either a barrier through which the preacher's word cannot penetrate; or else it is such an expectancy that even the poorest sermon becomes a living flame. It  has much to do with how you come to church. How will you come to church this Sunday?

“Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”  Psalms 100:2-4

Helping Others

Hello Everyone,
If you feel a nervous breakdown, anxiety or depression coming on, you would do good to find somebody else with a problem -- a serious one -- and get involved with that individual, helping them solve their problem. In helping others to solve their problem, will help you with your own problem. You're no longer thinking internally. You're no longer letting things gnaw at your stomach. You're no longer getting disturbed about yourself because you're not thinking about yourself. You're thinking about others. And that is some good medicine.

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”  1 Peter  4:10

Backsliding

Hello Everyone,
An older Christian shared with me, (boastingly)  that they were just backsliding. I reminded then that backsliding is a painful reminder of the consequences of sin: "You cannot backslide without suffering."  The smile seemed to disappear for a moment.

“Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.”  Jeremiah 2:19

Unthankfulness

Hello Everyone,
If you should give me a dish of sand, and tell me there were particles of iron in it, I might look for them by moving my fingers back and forth, and never be able to detect any iron. But if I were to take a magnet, and sweep through it, and it would draw the iron particles. So it is with the unthankful heart. Like the finger in the sand, it discovers no mercies nor blessings. But you let the thankful heart sweep through the day, and as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find some heavenly blessings.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Count your Blessings

Hello Everyone,
A man who owned a small estate wished to sell it. Sending for a real estate agent, he asked him to write an advertisement describing the house and land. When the ad was ready, the agent took it to the owner and read it to him. "Read that again," said the owner.
The agent read the description of the estate once more. "I don't think I will sell after all," said the owner. "I have been looking for an estate like that all my life, and I did not know that I owned it!"
Count your blessings -- yes, but start by asking God to open your eyes to see your possessions that God has given you already. Begin by recognizing all that you have in Christ. That will change your entire perspective and enable you to praise God for what you have.

“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.”  Deuteronomy 28:2

Seeing with Wisdom

Hello Everyone,

I looked into the face of a man that I admired and considered to have much wisdom. He sees how to fix a lot of things. He sees when folks are tired and weary and is able to make them feel better. He even sees what you meant to do, even when you did not do it. I asked him one day how he was able to see that way all the time, and he said, "It was the way he learned to look at things as he grew older in Christ."

All in the Attitude

Hello Everyone,
A man who was celebrating his 100th birthday was told by a friend, "Well, I congratulate you, but I'm afraid you'll not be here to celebrate a second hundred." To this the man replied, "I'm not so sure of that. The fact is, I am feeling very much stronger to begin this second hundred than I was when I began the first." That's the attitude Christians need as they face their senior years. They should not let their advancing age and declining physical vigor stop them from doing things for the Lord. Instead, older Christians should continue to be fruitful and productive. Besides it is will inspire the younger generation.

"The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head."

Off Monday

Hello Everyone,

Many go to work on Monday and can't wait until Friday. In fact, since Mondays are so depressing for so many people, that day may be hazardous to your health. A long-term follow-up study of nearly 4000 men found that 38 had died of sudden heart attacks on Monday while only 15 died on Friday. For men with no history of heart disease, Monday was particularly dangerous. So now you know why I take Mondays off!

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34

Good Day

Hello Everyone,

Today is good day, no matter now yours started. Let me ask, have you learned how to put worry and anxiety aside and live one day at a time? Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Enjoy it and glorify God. You will glad you did.

Just a Block of Wood

Hello Everyone,

I saw in a magazine about this man who with his chain saw scalper animal figures. Give him a block of wood, and in short order he can carve an animal with his chain saw. I got to thinking about that. God is the Master sculptor, and is at work in our lives. We may think that He must always use small, delicate instruments, but maybe at times He uses a chain saw. Or so it seems to us in our pain and anguish. But let us not fear, for He has a pattern in His mind for each of us, and He is shaping us into that design.

Tribulation

Hello Everyone,

In a picture I saw of the ancient Roman method of threshing grain, one man was seen stirring up the sheaves while another rides over them in a cart like thing with rollers instead of wheels. Sharp stones and rough bits of iron were attached to these wheels to help separate the husks from the grain. That cart was called a tribulum -- from which we get our word "tribulation." When great affliction comes to us, we often think of ourselves as being torn to pieces. Thank God, for God would never puts us under the pressure of sorrow and disappointment needlessly. There is a reason, for God does all things well.

"And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." Romans 5:3-5

A Beast

Hello Everyone,

Some time ago I came across an article entitled, "Qualifications of a Good Pastor," and talks about the demands often placed on God's servants. It reads as follows: A good pastor must have: The strength of an ox, The tenacity of a bulldog, The daring of a lion, The wisdom of an owl, The harmlessness of a dove, The industry of a beaver, The gentleness of a sheep, The versatility of a chameleon, The vision of an eagle, The hide of a rhinoceros, The perspective of a giraffe, The endurance of a camel, The bounce of a kangaroo, The stomach of a horse. What I noticed was, that all the qualifying character are those of animals. To be a good pastor he must be a beast!

The Good Shepherd

Hello Everyone,

Jesus is speaking and he makes it clear that He is the door, the only way into Heaven. He goes on to say that He is THE Good Shepherd. With that, one would have to think that there most have been or still is some Bad shepherds. There is only one Good Shepherd and that is Jesus Christ. No matter who you are, you are following a shepherd. Someone is leading you. Christians are to be followers of the Good Shepherd. But do not always do. All others are following another shepherd, one of the many bad shepherds. As simple as that is, and truthful, there are still many who still do not believe.

Grateful

Hello Everyone,

In every tragedy you can look at what you've lost and be hateful, or you can look at what you have left and be grateful. Joseph had ten brothers that hated him. They sold him as though he was nothing more than a dog. Joseph was a grand example of choosing to be grateful instead of hateful in the face of betrayal. Let us learn to be grateful in all things.

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:11-13

Who Cares?

Hello Everyone,

Thomas Edison noticed that his employees were in the habit of watching the lone factory clock. To the inventor who was an indefatigable worker, this was incomprehensible. He did not indicate his disapproval verbally. Instead he had dozens of clocks placed around the plant, no two keeping the same time. From then on clock watching led to so much confusion that nobody cared what time it was. We live in the days of religion, yet religion is confusing at best. Because of all the confusion, no one cares.

" I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul." Psalms 142:4
