Lord of Host

Hello Everyone,

What does “the Lord of hosts” mean? It literally means the Lord Almighty, and it speaks of the greatness of God. When David faced Goliath, he used the same name for God. “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts” in 1 Samuel 17:45. Though Goliath was a huge man, David said he wasn't too big to hit if God was on his side. Think about that the next time you are troubled, you have with you the LORD of hosts.

“And call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me”
Psalm 50:15.
